The Launch of Trivia Night Thursdays

On July 13, 2017, the Embassy of Haiti in Washington, DC launched Trivia Night Thursdays to complement its existing Open House series. Open to the general public, the event has been designed to offer an educational, cultural and social experience. Participants engaged in a fun, interactive and competitive activity integrating lively Haitian music, with prizes awarded to members of the winning trivia team.

The event was well attended with participants from Howard University, NASA, NBC News, DC’s Office of the Attorney General, the Association of Haitian Professionals (AHP) and more. Upon arrival, each participant was greeted with a custom-designed straw hat made in Haiti and signature cocktails infused with Haiti’s best known export, Rhum Barbancourt. The night continued with a guided tour of the renovated historic Chancery and the latest exhibits featured on its walls. As they gathered in the grand ballroom, the participants formed their teams and partook in a competitive trivia game featuring general questions on literature, entertainments, sports, current events, history and more!

Congratulations to team “HEE” on winning first place! We look forward to hosting the winning team(s) from each trivia night as they return to compete in a championship trivia night to take place later this year.
