Yve-Car Momperousse Founder of Haitian Company Kreyol Essence
Yve-Car Momperousse is the founder of Kreyol Essence, a wellness-based company established in 2009, specializing in organic personal care products made from ingredients cultivated and manufactured in Haiti. The company’s signature product is Palma Christi: Haitian Black Castor Oil. The creation of Kreyol Essence was fueled by Momperousse’s vision to stimulate economic activity in Haiti, where she moved with her Haitian parents at a young age from the United States.
While Ms. Momperousse is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the U.S. and has been an active member of the Haitian-American community, her product line is inspired by natural products she encountered as a youth in Haiti. At its core, Kreyol Essence is an agri-business. The production line is located in Haiti and the company’s corporate office is located in New York. Using ingredients sourced from Haitian farmers, the goal of the enterprise is to stimulate the agricultural sector in the country.
