On December 5, 2013, JetBlue Airways launched its first nonstop flights to Haiti from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
The first outgoing flight departed at 6:30am from NYC with a full load of passengers and was welcomed by Haiti’s Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, and other officials. On board was a special delegation including: Members of JetBlue, Ambassador of Haiti to the U.S., Paul Altidor, Counsel General of Haiti in New York, Charles Forbin and many more.
The new route will operate daily non-stop flights between New York’s JFK and twice daily flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.
