Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce that distinguished Chef Cynthia Verna, also known as “Chef Thia,” will represent Haiti at Washington’s most prestigious global culinary event, the Embassy Chef Challenge. Cynthia was a featured chef in residence at the Embassy of Haiti’s cooking class series earlier this year, and we are elated to welcome her back to Washington for this year’s Embassy Chef Challenge.
The annual competition brings together hundreds in the Washington community for an evening of cultural diplomacy. It is a unique opportunity for participating Embassies to feature and promote their culture through cuisine and for the guests to sample flavors from around the world.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. I encourage you to attend, support Haitian cuisine and sample flavors from around the world. More importantly, I ask you to help bring home the top prize for Haiti as the audience will decide the winner of the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice Awards!
Registration is now open and tickets are going fast. Purchase your tickets now at the following link and join us as we celebrate Haitian gastronomy!
Best Regards,
Ambassador Paul Altidor
