The Embassy of Haiti presents Les Petits Chanteurs, the renowned boy’s choir of the Holy Trinity Music School of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in concert Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The concert will be held at the Embassy of Haiti, 2311 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington, D.C., after their performance at the Smithsonian.
The Holy Trinity Cathedral complex was destroyed in Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. Before the disaster, the music school served more than 1,000 students. Every year, the boys’ choir goes on a U.S. tour to help raise support for rebuilding the school.
Les Petits Chanteurs is a select group of singers ranging in age from 8 to 18. Over the years, ensembles from the Holy Trinity Music School have performed at the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C., Lincoln Center in New York City, Tanglewood Music Center with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, with the Chicago Children’s Choir and at more than 90 churches across the United States.
