Haitian-American Nadjejda Chapoteau was born in Boston, MA, grew up in Haiti and has been living in the U.S. for over 22 years. She currently lives in Washington, DC after living in Miami, FL for over 18 years. Nadjejda is a Certified Professional Coach and an Energy Leadership Index Master Practioner through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC). Prior to taking the entrepreneurial route, she gained over 12 years experience working with diverse populations in the profit and nonprofit sector as a Credential Evaluator and Case Manager.
Nadjejda’s passion of empowering people to live a life they love is what led her to coaching especially after taking a trip to Haiti in 2011 where she visited a camp and met these 2 Haitian kids that looked up to her and wanted more out of life. She always wanted to make a difference in Haiti and realized she wans’t making a difference where she was currently working. “I believe we all have a life purpose and fulfilling it makes us feel alive which has a positive impact on the world.”
Nadjejda gets really excited helping people find their own voice, explore their life purpose and fulfill it. To her, discovering and fulfilling our purpose is our way to share our unique light with the world. Her own journey to her calling hasn’t been a straight line and she shares it with others to inspire, empower, motivate and encourage them to step out of their comfort zone to create and have the life they desire.
Nadjejda combined her passions of coaching, yoga and zumba and founded her business Light of Haiti in late 2012. She offers primarily life and wellness coaching services through Love Light Coaching, the coaching section of Light of Haiti. As a Certified Zumba Instructor who is currently not teaching regularly, she will have zumba classes in her own events and will offer those services to nonprofit organizations looking to add some additional fun attraction to their fundraising events. As a Yogi and aspiring yoga teacher she plans on having yoga and meditation retreats in Haiti in the near future.
Light of Haiti stands for empowerment, transformation and life balance. It is spreading love, light and transformation through life, career transition and wellness coaching. Light of Haiti’s mission is to equip people with empowering tools to create and have a life they love by getting out of the dark and stepping into and remaining in the light.
As a coach, Nadjejda works with individuals who are committed to themselves and are ready to step out of their comfort zone in order to create a life they love. Her specialties are helping professional women find their own voice, create and have a life and career they love and helping people who struggle with having a healthy lifestyle and a spiritual practice.
Nadjejda’s coaching approach is a holistic one. Looking at the whole allows her to look at every area of her clients’ lives as one affects the other. She incorporates spirituality into her coaching practice with clients who are open to it.
She is known for her contagious energy, fun, determined, giving and passionate personality. Her coaching style is compassionate, caring, inspiring, fun and creative. She offers her clients a safe place to share their deepest thoughts and desires as this allows them the ability to show up as their true selves. As a result, people who work with her feel fulfilled, empowered and get in action creating a life they love.
In addition to doing one-on-one and group coaching, Nadjejda also works with organizations wanting to expose their employees to wellness and especially those who serve at risk youth. She conducts workshops and speaks on wellness, values, life purpose, the importance of having a spiritual practice and other life and wellness related topics.
Nadjejda takes her work seriously and one of her visions for her business is to be able to make a difference in Haiti by giving back in sponsoring programs that empower Haitians.
“I believe that if everyone has a life and career they love, our world will be a better place and through my work, I’m contributing on making a world a better place. The world needs more love.”
As over 80% of coaching is done over the phone, Nadjejda has and is able to work with people all around the world via Skype.
