OUR BUSINESS
Azéde Jean-Pierre is an independent women’s ready-to-wear design label based in New York city. The namesake was founded in February of 2012 & walks the line between fashion and art, femininity and edge. It is dedicated to developing clothing that empowers women by pushing the boundaries of functionality and innovation, perfecting technique and achieving balance in wearability & design. Since its inception, the line has been committed to producing meticulously crafted goods that celebrated a naturally-feminine, quirky, modern & sophisticated free-spirit. A focus on strong silhouette, advanced fabric development, & point of view is central to the brands vision. It has since become a red carpet favorite for cool, sophisticated-quirky and influential women like Solange Knowles, Gillian Jacobs and Former First Lady Michelle Obama.

OUR FOUNDER’S STORY
An alum of Savannah College of Art and Design and a New York City transplant, Azéde Jean-Pierre honed her skills early on apprenticing under Ralph Rucci and at Ohne Titel before pursuing the launch of her own label. Native to Pestel, Haiti and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jean-Pierre is a refugee, a first generation American and the fourth of eight children. Azéde grew-up in a very large family surrounded by the juxtaposition of beautiful nature and metropolitan life. That duality as well as her diverse cultural background is a constant influence & inspiration for the designer. She pulls from her natural, urban and multicultural upbringing to draft a unique perspective within fashion. Azéde is driven by a passion for the individual identity and reflecting a women’s character in her personal style. She is passionate about reducing poverty and supporting artisans from marginalized groups and is proud to grow a responsible fashion company, believing that slow fashion and sustainable luxury is the future of our industry.
