Known for his visual art and literary accomplishments, Haitian writer Franketienne will join the 2013 Francophonie Festival with two stellar events.
April 3, he examines male-dominated societies in the play “Les Délires du prédateur déchu” (Delirium of the Fallen Predator). The play, infused with poetry, will be shown at La Maison Francaise (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER).
The dynamic relationship between French and Creole will be the subject of a Franketienne-led conference at the Haitian Embassy on April 5 (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER).
“Having such a world-renowned figure here for the Francophonie Festival is definitely a feat,” said Stephane Rosenberg, president of the 2013 Francophonie Festival and cultural director for the Embassy of Haiti. “We urge lovers of art, theatre, poetry, literature and language to join us for this rare opportunity to see and interact live with an international icon.”
