The Political Section ensures cooperation between the Government of Haiti and the Government of the United States of America on matters such as security and international relations.
Understanding that U.S. politics is a constructive process where voices from different sectors of society play a major role in policy making, members of this section reach out to groups including the Administration, Congressional representatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations, think tanks, universities and embassies.
From this exercise of ongoing communication, several projects, initiatives and policies have been shaped which have benefited both countries and the region, such as the issues of deportation, drug interdiction and law enforcement training.
